In an interview with Glamour Magazine, Union offered her perspective as to why she chose to stay with Wade after the revelation that a child with another woman was on the way.

“It was because of distance and scheduling,” the “Being Mary Jane” star said. “I finished filming the show, then I flew to Vegas right away to start shooting ‘Think Like a Man Too.’ I couldn’t take time off, and I missed some quality togetherness we desperately needed.”
However, Union said that during the summer she “reassessed priorities” and ultimately decided that she wanted to make their relationship work. Wade, who also has two sons from a previous marriage and is raising his nephew as well, felt the same way.
“I’d always wanted an awesome career with back-to-back projects, but I realized I wasn’t willing to sacrifice my relationship for it. Moving forward, I decided my work schedule has to make sense for our family,” she said. “Bottom line: If an issue’s a deal breaker, it’s a deal breaker. If your relationship isn’t something you’re willing to give up and you can compromise, do so.”
Now, the two make sure to be affectionate with each other all the time. Union said that Wade never leaves the house without kissing her goodbye and saying, “I love you,” and added that she compliments him constantly.
“I am almost a little Chester the Molester-y. I think he’s so delicious,” she said. “Watching him get out of the shower never gets old. Never. It’s not like he ever wonders what I’m thinking, but usually he’s thinking, She needs a cold shower!’”

What about the KID, Mo? Is this guy going to man up, marry the woman and raise the kid? Is the kid going to have a family that is there to raise him? Hey Mo, why don’t you do some serious social commentary and track down 100 of the kids that these swinging dicks have left without a daddy present and interview them about how they feel about not having a father and how they have done in their own lives. THAT would have some depth and maybe people should start discussing it from the kids’ point of view and not from a self centered man child with a hard on and a silly little princess who’s feet go in the air in a stiff breeze.
I am not annoyed with you and I like your work. I just am tired of hearing about people doing this to kids. Maybe I am wrong about this issue. It wont be the first or last time. But it takes a lot more than cash to raise kids.

Wade is not going to marry the mother of the child in question, as he just proposed to the Gabrielle Union. So in this case, it does not seem this child will have a dedicated father. The mother as I understand it also has children from Damon Wayans Jr. and was previously married to him if I’m not mistaken.
I don’t know how this will turn out and you are right…as I do mention in the following that children need “full-time parents not just financial contributions.”
