TMZ Polls Readers on Whether to Call Black People ‘NI***S’

This happens because we as African-Americans allow it to happen.  THIS is what the ignorance of the N-Word has gotten us.  THIS is the level of respect (or should I say disrespect).

And it happens without consequence.  Below is a screen grab for your enjoyment.  Do you get it now?!  Now get mad, protest and call Harvey Levin all sorts of names…and then go right on back to using the word.  Because THIS only happens because we allow and encourage it to happen.

How comfortable does a “media” source have to be to create an open poll on what Black people “should” be called, under the guise of taking Suge Knight’s ignorant remarks seriously?  THIS only happens to us…and only happens because we have allowed it to get to this point.

As of this posting, the link is still live and unaltered.  But IF it is changed, here is a screen grab for your enjoyment.

So we are responsible for perpetuating a word not created by us to describe us? I guess we are also responsible for the 12 generations of stolen, murdered, raped and exploited Africans brainwashed and indoctrinating that word into our collective psyche. Perhaps even the 22 million souls destroyed enroute to the worst Abomination in man’s recent recorded history. I pray the god of their understanding, has as much Grace and Mercy as The True and Living God Jehovah

We are responsible for greeting each other with it. We are responsible for putting it in our movies, music and defending the use of it in our daily lives and in our comedy routines.

Conversely, there is no lack of clarity that “K***” is a slur and not a greeting. It is not for use in music, movies or greeting cards.

And you can best believe, along those lines, there will NEVER be any poll on TMZ as to whether we should refer to Jewish people as K****. They wouldn’t allow it and they don’t fight for its use and don’t approve of it being included within the culture.

I definitely agree with you Mo’Kelly. There would not be a perpetuation of the word (and by extension, the racist overtones it carries) if we didn’t allow it. History has clearly proven that when we rally around a cause to change how we are treated, then we can affect change.

Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, we forgot that minstrel shows are intentionally offensive; that what happens to one of us is a reflection of what CAN happen to all of us, and that words have meaning regardless of intent!

    Something has got to change!

A TV show thinks it’s ok to put up a poll on whether we should be referred to as N***** or African-Americans, and you think that we are somehow responsible because some of “us” choose to use that word? That is seriously scary. What is this world coming to?! You’re right- they wouldn’t use these terms for any other race or people, but please know that other groups regularly use offensive terms against their own, but YOU better know not to!
