KFI Adding Two Weekend Minority Hosts
After much uproar by the Black Media Alliance for the lack of minority hosts on KFI AM 640, the talk radio station announced two new weekend programs featuring two minority hosts from sister Clear Channel station KTLK.
Producer and radio host Morris O’Kelly will host a new show on Saturdays from 6-8:00 p.m. while David Cruz will be on the airwaves Sunday from 6-8:00 p.m. Both shows will begin this weekend.
According to KFI, the new shows will “discuss, dissect and investigate the important, often controversial issues of the day through the eyes of an eclectic collection of Southern California residents, urbanites and suburbanites, young and old, across race, gender and the political spectrum.”
Translation: Get off our backs, Black Media Alliance.
I expect both shows to be gone from the KFI airwaves by the end of the year and the excuse will be low ratings. Prove me wrong, Morris and David.

Readers, understand that there are some out there expecting Mo’Kelly to fail, hoping Mo’Kelly to fail…if not needing Mo’Kelly to fail.
Not unlike the movie Red Tails. Some people want diversity in media...right up until it requires them to support, not just complain from across the street.
But don’t get Mo’Kelly started on that…
Your collective support (of The Mo’Kelly Report) has been tremendous and in large part responsible for the growth I have enjoyed thus far. DiverseLA was an unmitigated success because you readers right HERE, spreading the word.
But now, it’s on and crackin’. Mo’Kelly is fired up like never before! There’s more work to be done.
Just know my friends that not everyone desiring “diversity” in media really, really wants it. Some only sound the rally cry to tear down, not one to actually support it.
