3 responses to “Judge Mathis Weighs in on Troy Davis Execution (VIDEO)”
Apparently Judge Mathis (whom I love dearly) forgot to do his own research but instead, is relying on sound bites from t.v. news stations.
While the soundbites reiterate that “Seven witnesses recanted….” they somehow forget (?) to mention that when the Supreme Court stayed Davis’ execution in 2008, those seven witnesses were given the opportunity to testify. Davis and his team of lawyers refused to call any of them to the stand.
You know why? Obviously they knew the witnesses were lying and that their testimony (under oath) would not hold up under anyone’s cross examination.
Fact is, the case WAS retried by a panel of judges and lies don’t hold up….which is why judge after judge after judge rejected Troy’s lies.
Here is some good reading for Judge Mathis:

Update: I said that none of the seven witnesses were called to stand. Actually, there were 2 of the seven that the lawyers chose not to call, in spite of the fact that they were right there in the courthouse. The judge called that suspicious and I agree.
The others actually were called to testify and they were obviously not believable.
