Tavis Smiley, PAY YOUR Phone Bill! Tired of AT&T Asking ME for Payment!!! (AUDIO)

It’s no secret, Tavis Smiley is both my former employer and an object of abject ridicule here, given how he served me with a Cease and Desist letter for publicly criticizing him in 2012.  The public critic does not take kindly to being publicly criticized.

So one can imagine that my patience for dealing with any and all things Smiley is minimal at best.  For the better part of two months I’ve been receiving calls from AT&T asking for payment on one of the business phone lines for The Smiley Group!  Yeah, your former boss isn’t paying HIS bills on time and YOU get REPEATEDLY called asking for payment?!

On your PERSONAL cell phone?!

Say it together with me.  “Aw HELLS no!”

Some time after Christmas I took it upon myself to politely call AT&T to have my name and number removed from the account.  I made no fuss or stink, just quietly tried to address and correct the issue.  The circumstances surrounding the inability of The Smiley Group to pay one of its landline phone bills was neither my concern nor within my control.

Not…my…problem.

I thought it had been handled on both ends, AT&T and The Smiley Group.

Guess not.

The calls began again and with the most recent one (today), I decided I had had enough.  Tavis Smiley, pay your bills…on time.  This (again), is not a good look.  I am the last person on the face of the Earth that you should be looking to to help you with any financial difficulties you may be encountering.  I’ve asked AT&T, now I’m asking you; please keep me out of your phone bill issues.

Why my name was attached to the account in the first place…I have no idea.  Why it’s connected some three years after leaving his employ, I REALLY have no idea.  Why Tavis is seemingly struggling each month to pay a phone bill, I just don’t have any idea.  (Well, I do…but it would be improper to elaborate publicly).
