When was the last time California executed someone? Do you know how much money it costs the courts and the state to go through the appeal process when someone is sentenced to death? If we aren’t going to actually execute these people, there is no need to have the death penalty. I, for one, would be in favor of the the death penalty if we would actually follow through with it.
Mo, I listen to you every day on KTLK and I am disappointed that you are not supporting prop. 30. It will destroy LAUSD. I work as a therapist in a special ed. school funded by LAUSD. They have already cut our funds and forced five unpaid furlough days on us. If prop 30 fails we will have an additional 10 furlough days which means 10 less school days for our kids and 10 more unpaid days for us. Not good.
Thanks for you time,
Tony Malinda, M.A., M.F.T.
I have never said anywhere on any show how I feel on Prop 30. I said that Californians historically have not supported tax increases and have confused this proposition with 38 which is similar sounding in nature. But nowhere have I taken any stance on proposition 30. There is a podcast of the audio still available on KTLKAM1150.com to support what I’m writing here.
I’ve not taken any stance.
Thanks for your reply Mo, I am sorry if i heard you wrong. Even if you did not take a stance you still made the comment that you were pretty sure it would not pass. We REALLY need this bill to pass. Many of us will not be able to pay our bills with another 8% pay cut. We used to laugh at 4% pay raises now we would give anything for that to happen again. We already pay a high sales tax in Cali so what difference would one quarter of a cent (note cent not per-cent) increase make at this point? I know many people who make over $250,000/year who would be willing to pay a bit more so let’s work together and make this happen. Not only would the employees of LAUSD lose a huge amount of income but those of us who are parents will have 10 more days without school for our kids. And at a loss when it comes to occupying and taking care of them during those extra days off.
thanks for your time.
I am all for anything which improves our schools. At the same time, I was for the lotto revenues for school improvement too.
