Mo’Kelly has received all sorts of emails regarding the article which ran in Psychology Today last week which argued the supposed inferior beauty of Black women.
Some emails implored Mo’Kelly to craft a response, others forwarded their responses they also emailed the author and/or publisher. I thought about crafting a response…for a moment.
A brief moment.
There are times when something is not worth your time and extensive effort. This would be one of them. The Mo’Kelly Report is about the business of offering different entry points into discussions and raising the quality of the conversation.
I’m not going to “debate” the validity of a ridiculous formulation, based purely in racial animus and flawed methodology. It is no different than engaging the topic of “Black intellectual inferiority” and there are plenty of simpletons out there with PhDs willing to advance such theories.
If this psychology expert believes that Black women are less physically attractive (for whatever reason)…so be it. Go publish your theory in your journal and wonder why you can’t get a date with any woman (Black or otherwise).
More for me.
I love Sistahs just the way they are and Mo’Kelly doesn’t need to justify it or scientifically analyze it in any way.
But this does need to be said…
If Black women are somehow the least attractive of all women, then somebody needs to explain the historical success of tanning salons, the staying power of the hair perm, the craze of collagen injections to the lips, butt implants and the whole country of Brazil.
(Mo’Kelly has a weird predilection with the beauty of Brazilian women…don’t ask.)
Invariably, some will visit this post and wonder what in the hell Mo’Kelly is talking about in the first place. To that end, here is a link to a copy of the article as the original has been removed (imagine that.). Let’s not get caught up in debating or responding to foolishness.
