White Prep Vocal Group with Hip Hop ‘Twist’…Sorta (VIDEO)

Under normal circumstances, Mo’Kelly wouldn’t publish such a video, but it serves as a good opportunity to discuss the influence of Hip Hop on society’s cultural mores and ethical compass. It’s one thing to “do” something, it’s another to show your face in a video and highlight yourself doing it. Ironically enough, Mo’Kelly doesn’t think these young women have any clue whatsoever they are degrading themselves.  A lot of effort was put into this “performance.”

In ways it’s funny, but only because we’re laughing at them.  Or maybe the joke is on us as African-Americans and they are in fact laughing at us and what is elevated within our culture. For the young women in this video it’s a joke and then it’s back to suburbia.

For many in the African-American community, it’s a code to live one’s life by.

Your thoughts?

(Note: for those who are sensitive to profanity, this video will be hard on the ears.  This post is to elucidate a point, not meant to be  gratuitous in nature.  I apologize in advance. )

It makes Mo’Kelly think of that scene from Scary Movie II.  You know the one.
