Mo..I know you've heard the expression"Don't get into a battle of wits with someone who is unarmed." This is exacly how I feel. I will not try to have a conversation about this mess with a bona fide BOT or a borderline BOT. They have not read anything. They are witless. I'm reading things like " Let House Stewart have a chance. She may turn things around. Crazy!!!BAM has called out Soror Purnell and the BOTs go along.I truly love my organization but where we are right now is not where our Founders want us to be. We are on life support. There may be heavy penalties from the IRS, We may lose our nonprofit status. Our reputation for how we reacted to BAM's corruptin is a joke. We still have members talking about now that BAM's term is up it will be fine. The Founders are looking at this and saying AKA is on life support. pull the plug and let her go.
Barbara should stop, prove that you are innocent, have the financial records audited by someone who has no dealings with you. Or better still let the IRS audit the books. And if you are found to be the thief that we think you are pay restitution to the sorority over and above what you stole.
This is a darned shame. And to think, she was honored by The Links? Absolutely classless.
Throughout history the infamous have had admirers..young and old. I'll bet some young SS officer found admirable qualities in Hitler. If indeed this young undergrad and her chaoter members have taken advantage of their individual and collective educational blessings, they've read the documents carefully. They've discussed what they read and debated some points made. Then they went to older members who have also READ, DISCUSSED and created thoughtful questions to ask their Regional Director and BAM. Looking at the specific detailed documents of defense provided by BAM that support her claim of "persecution from disgruntled members "including a former Supreme Basileus" they decide to remain loyal for evermore to their embattled national president. Who has so "professionalized our sisterhood that her appointed executive director can't find sorority documents. This clearly gives them good reason to remain steadfast in loyalty in their support, It also demonstrates their love for AKA/BAM. ….Mo does my sarcasm drippeth too? I sure hope so :0)!!!!
Well said Von08. I simply cannot believe that she let her final message be that dumb a*s paragraph wasting her last message with finger pointing. SMH… Way to keep it classy BAM.
One more thing about that letter from the undergrad. This shows us how our total lack of mentoring has led undergrads to admire the likes of BAM. My daughter a Soror and strong supporter of accountability admired our Founders and Sorors like Julia Purnell. I'd like to take a little credit for exposing her to the real vision of our Founders. I'm seriously considering writing a letter to Whitney. It truly bothers me that our younger members see BAM as a role model for leadership. What does this say for the future of our sisterhood? Because I'm a Life Member I've always felt a responsibility to stress to potential and younger members the wonderful vision that was created by them. BAM, her board and others are a total disgrace to the sisterhood.
Oh the innocence of the new and “green” (no pun intended) initiate lol. Hopefully, she can take her passion for her sorority and put it to good use when she wakes up to the current state of affairs.
Self serving to the bitter end.
@C-ya, you took the words out of my mouth. 'Self serving to the bitter end.' How is it that you would use your VERY LAST LETTER as Supreme Basileus to bash a former Supreme Basileus for asking to see books that she is ENTITLED to see? How dare you throw mud on your soror who has lived and served the sorority through the civil rights movement until this day? This is sad.
Do you know what it reminds me of? It reminds me of those people who, in a war of words, grab some near passerby and plead their case to get the innocent bystander to say, 'Well, you have a point.' instead of standing on their own merits and backing up their argument with evidenciary proof. This is truly sad.
I guess the thing that was most glaring to me was the fact that ALL of the undergraduate photos were missing in our recent publication. To be one to brainwash our undergrads, she most certainly let them know, subliminally, their contributions to our sorority were not worth the effort. Very much like the lousy cheap shot she took in her farewell address.
LOVE your new blog, Mo! And now you are safe from any potential complaints and your very important words will be protected. Great move going to your own server. It's called FREEDOM!
Thank you Lynn…love you Lynn. Freedom is a wonderful thing!
Mo, are you planning to attend the July 27 hearing?
