I was both shocked and dismayed to see that President Obama made any effort whatsoever to reveal his birth certificate. Mind you, another birth certificate, just as authentic and legal as the short form seen heretofore by everyone. It’s disappointing in innumerable ways.
Some say this finally puts to rest any question of his natural born citizenship status. Others might argue (as has the president) that this removes unnecessary distractions, which have prevented America from concentrating on the supposed more important issues.
The reality is neither is true.
It doesn’t matter President Obama revealed “another” birth certificate, because the non believers and disbelievers were never in any way concerned about facts or truth. If they were, the State of Hawaii would have been enough to put their hearts at ease long ago.
Although Arizona Senator John McCain was born on a 10-mile stretch of U.S. property in Central America, there was never doubt from Birthers of the legitimacy of his citizenship or the authenticity of his birth certificate after the fact. They were more comfortable believing that the man born down in the Central American region was more “American” than the man born in Hawaii…meaning, in America.
This was never about any birth certificate. In fact, the conversation has already turned to whether President Obama was worthy of receiving an Ivy League education, despite the fact that we already know George W. Bush was not.
There was never any legitimate question as to President Obama’s citizenship status and this latest revelation will do nothing to dissuade this “element” in America from seeking other weapons of mass distraction in which to busy themselves and our president.
Even as we speak, the Birther movement has already questioned as the authenticity and timing of the document’s release.
It will never, ever be good enough.
President Obama must stop pacifying and elevating ignorance. He should know better by now and not have fallen for the okie doke…again.
This is about obstruction, and the continuing effort to de-legitimize his administration. Doing so legitimizes the previous disrespect of the office, the inexcusable racist rhetoric and vitriol. We should be smart enough to recognize the various iterations of this insanity over the past 4 years. I would rather the president call it for what it is, really chastised and checked America for her indefensible behavior. He should get something out of this too, not just the people who still think the world is flat and or that Jim Crow is still in effect.
It has been simply a variation on a recurring theme.
Let us not forget, then-Senator Obama needed to take time out of his life to “prove” he wasn’t a radical, anti-White Christian, due to his association with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. His widely-viewed speech on how race impacted his life only helped move the discussion away from whether Obama was a “radical-Black Liberation Theology Christian” and on to whether he was a “closeted Muslim sleeper.”
Yes, Barack Obama was accused of being both a Christian and Muslim radical within the same presidential campaign by the same supposed fringe elements of this country. That’s a pretty nifty trick if you ask me. Nevertheless, Obama wished to clear the air so the country could move on and address “the more serious issues.” We’ve tried this before and now look where it’s gotten us.
In between his bouts of supposed religious schizophrenia, Obama had to also prove his patriotism due to not wearing an American flag lapel pin while leaving the house.
There just had to be something to hate about him, something other than the obvious. For publicity sake of course. It’s okay to hate him for all reasons connected to his color, just don’t publicly say it’s connected to his color (wink wink).
He’s had to prove he wasn’t a Marxist or Socialist, although he bailed out both the banking and automotive industries. Despite all of the conspiracy-theorist fears that Obama wished to redistribute wealth in America, the status quo has remained unchanged…Bush Tax Cuts included. If that doesn’t crown him as the King of Capitalism, nothing will.
It will never be enough.
Marxist, Socialist, Muslim, anti-American, anti-White, Kenyan-born. There must be something to hate about him, other than stating the obvious.
It will never be enough. President Obama must stop trying to pacify ignorance.
The only thing this “element” believes about President Obama is that he is Black and member of “The Blacks.” They take him at his word and treat him accordingly. The recurring theme and supposition is that Barack Obama has somehow tricked America; lied to her and has unjustly become its leader. Such foolishness will not stop until Obama leaves office. No number of birth certificates, high school transcripts or baptismal certificates will change this fact.
This is why I was saddened to see our president bent over backward, once again, more than any other president in American history, to appease a large segment of this country who will never accept any truth other than he’s Black. They surely believe him and require no further proof.

There will never be a resolution. Nothing the President can do to appease these racist nuts.
Agreed. Nothing will Ever be enough. But this wasn’t about satisfying the nutjobs, in my opinion.
I think this was done in reaction to the bill that AZ Gov Brewer vetoed, and similar bills that are supposedly going through in other states. The bill that could potentially have kept him off he ballot in those states. Granted, states he probably wouldn’t have won anyway, but the legal challenges and political maneuvering that could potentially have gon on before, during, and after possibly winning his 2012 reelection…. Yeah, that would have been a Hell of a Distraction, especially during the reelection campaign.
