Bill Maher Needs to Man Up, Wayne Brady Needs to Back Up
It’s about time Bill Maher responded to Wayne Brady. Not because he owes Brady any sort of explanation or apology for his previous jokes about Brady’s supposed lacking Black male fortitude. Maher needs to respond because he has never been reticent to respond to the likes of a Donald Trump or a Sarah Palin.
Man up, Bill.
On its face it’s more than odd that Maher is comfortable enough to openly question the simian parentage of a real estate magnate but gives pause to a game show host. It’s noticed and to be highlighted that although Maher gleefully dubbed Sarah Palin a “c***,” he’s at a loss for words and bravado when confronted with Brady’s oratory.
I care nothing for either Donald or Sarah but the facts are what they are.
Man up, Bill.
If he is willing to refer to ANY woman as a “c***” there is no argument to be made that Maher is taking the high road with Brady. The high road doesn’t have an access ramp if you practically live on the subway in your humor. The list of insults levied by Maher at those who either irritate or deride him is longer than all of the stages of the Tour De France strung together. History is clear, Maher took on all comers and no subject was taboo. He never missed an opportunity to insult believers of any religion. Ironically, his comedic fixation on religion is arguably religious in nature.
Those observations aside, Maher is for the most part a funny, funny guy with brilliant comedy underlying his political insights. At the same time, being consistently comically adept does not change the facts of how he has taken considerable time to generate laughs at the expense at Wayne Brady and now has nothing witty to say when called out by the same.
Wayne Brady hosts Let’s Make a Deal, has released two R&B albums and boasts an overall career (save his comments on Maher and a Chappelle’s Show appearance) about as clean, honorable and Americana there is…next to Ryan Seacrest.
I know, I know…all of that was the genus of Maher’s joke. I get that. But in the wake of the joke, come some uncomfortable truths.
Although Brady criticizes Maher for promoting the stereotype of a “real” Black man, Maher seemingly is a true believer and Brady is now helping promote it.
Clearly Maher views Brady as a “real” Black man and always has in truth. I suspect Maher would have no problem responding to any insults levied by Monty Hall or Drew Carey. He doesn’t fear Donald Trump, his lawsuits and his many millions of dollars backing him. He fears not the legions of conservatives or women’s groups who have long called for his head on a swizzle stick.
But Maher CLEARLY fears the Black man who has “joked” about “beating his ass in public.” Maher didn’t even test the waters with Brady after the fact. Conversely and sadly, Brady might have only further perpetuated the stereotype he and I so desperately fight (no pun intended) to dispel.
The first time Brady commented about it on Aisha Tyler’s podcast last year, it was a funny joke. To expound at length on it a second time with Marc Lamont Hill for The Huffington Post makes it no longer a joke. It means you’re serious.
I question why Brady returned to the well to rip Maher with no further prodding from him. Brady can either be a game show host or be the guy who (twice) threatens comedians and talk show hosts. It’s an either/or, mutually exclusive proposition. He can’t be both. I hope Brady realizes this before someone else makes the career determination for him.
Bill Maher needs to man up, but Wayne Brady also needs to back up…for career sake.
Either way, there is nothing to question or debate regarding Bill Maher going forward. He only picks “fights” he thinks he can win. Except with Brady, he lost badly.
Badly.

Sarah Palin Calls Nancy Pelosi a ‘Dingbat’ Regarding Health Care Debate (VIDEO)
Priceless.
Arguably the least intelligent person to ever hold public office commenting that the former Speaker of the House is a “dingbat.” Never mind the fact that “dingbat” is not emblematic of an extensive vocabulary, never mind that…
And OF COURSE it is with Sean Hannity on Fox News.
Roll tape…

Todd Palin to Divorce Sarah – Political Career Over!
(Guess all those supposed ‘lies’ in the book The Rogue weren’t so “untrue” after all.)
(And Sarah Palin’s Twitter account “sarahpalinusa” has also been deleted!)
A source close to the former vice presidential candidate said: ‘Sarah Palin has been destroyed by Joe McGinniss’ no-holds-barred biography. It exposed all her lies, cover-ups and secrets.
‘As a result she has been told by her advisers that it would be political suicide to announce a White House candidacy. The press and her opponents would have a field day digging into the dirty details of her background.’
Brother: Chuck ‘Chuckie’ Heath Jr told friends that Todd and Sarah ‘didn’t have a marriage’
The bombshell book is said to have put the final nail in the coffin of her marriage, after Sarah’s brother Chuckie was quoted saying his sister and Todd’s marriage was over.
A friend told the National Enquirer: ‘The final straw was McGinniss quoting Sarah’s brother Chuckie telling a friend they don’t have a marriage.
‘Todd felt as if he was stabbed in the back by his own brother-in-law after 23 years of being married to the guy’s sister, and having five kids together.’
It was revealed last week that former basketball player Glen Rice had a one-time fling with the Alaska governor when she was a news anchor for her local station and he was a junior at the University of Michigan.
The source told the Enquirer that Todd feels like he’s been made a laughing stock as the hook up had become a joke on late night TV and was all over the internet.
He was also said to be ‘fuming’ over the biography’s confirmation that his wife had an affair with his business partner Brad Hanson and that Todd dissolved their snowmobile dealership after learning of it.

Sarah Palin, Dunked by a Black Basketball Player…YES!!
Website Deadspin.com/National Enquirer is reporting that Sarah Palin had a one-night stand with then college basketball star Glen Rice.
The National Enquirer grabbed some details from the upcoming Joe McGinniss Sarah Palin book, and this chunk is too delightful not to share with you immediately. Apparently Palin had a fling with former Heat/Hornet/Laker Glen Rice while he was in college and while she was a sports reporter in Alaska, all the way back in 1987. Rice confirms it in the book.
Here’s the Enquirer:
In the book, which will be published on September 20th, McGinniss claims Sarah had a steamy interracial hookup with basketball stud Glen Rice less than a year before she eloped with her husband Todd.
Sarah hooked up with the NBA great, then a 6-foot-8 junior at the University of Michigan when he was playing in a college basketball tournament in Alaska in 1987, the book says. At the time, Sarah, just out of college, was working as a sports reporter for the Anchorage TV station KTUU.
A publishing source told The ENQUIRER that McGinniss claims Sarah had a “fetish” for black men at the time and he quotes a friend as saying Sarah had “hauled (Rice’s) ass down.”
[...]
In the book, McGinniss quotes Rice as confirming the one-night stand.
Mo’Kelly is ALL OVER THIS!
What should the headline of Mo’Kelly’s NEXT editorial be? You decide!
“Teabagger gets teabagged?!”
“Black Man Bags Teabagger”
“Glen Rice Slams Dunks Future Governor”
“Once You Go Black, You Never Win Vice President”

Bachmann’s Early Success Could Mean Sarah Palin Candidacy…YES!
Let’s go Michele Bachmann! Push ‘em out, shove ‘em out…WAYYYYY OUT!
Yes, you read that correctly. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s Iowa Straw Poll victory wasn’t only great news for the Bachmann campaign, it was also tremendous news for the Sarah Palin “campaign.” Which a priori is wonderful news for President Obama’s re-election bid.
A vote for Bachmann, is a step closer to a Palin candidacy/nomination. Nothing in this world would make me happier than Sarah Palin declaring her candidacy for president of these United States. And the southern evangelicals think God doesn’t have a sense of humor! Bite your tongue and hush yo’ mouth!
Maybe it’s wishful thinking but all the signs are there. Palin was on a reconnaissance mission in Iowa last weekend, looking to gain insight as to the viability of the Palin name in middle-America.
Bachmann may be the Tea Party Caucus chair in Washington, but Palin is for many the titular head of the movement nationwide. It begs the question, does Bachmann derive her presidential support due to the absence of Sarah Palin or in preference over her?
I say the former and not the latter.
The recent debate performance by Bachmann suggests that her voting base is enamored with the idea of her “principled leadership.”
Hold your jokes, I’m getting there.
Mo’Kelly said THE IDEA of her “principled leadership.” not the contradicting reality. Tim Pawlenty tried unsuccessfully to clue in the Republicans that Bachmann is running on rhetoric, not her actual record (which boasts zero political victories of note.)
But Republicans are consistent, they aren’t interested in facts and that bodes VERY well for a Palin candidacy. Please God, have mercy upon the Democrats and allow this to happen.
Bachmann wants to have it both ways. She wishes to campaign on the ideological platform of “sending a message” to Washington, but also wants you to forget that her office is also located in Washington. Yes, Republicans were never ones to let simple minutia like that get in the way. Remember, this is the party which brought you both The Birthers and the Iraq War. Facts are not their strong suit.
O.J. Simpson will find “the real killers” right around the time George W. Bush finds the Iraq WMDs.
But I digress. Maybe it’s just Mo’Kelly, but Bachmann seems every bit the diet version of Sarah Palin.
All of the intolerance, with just half the fallacies.”
For as extreme as the Congresswoman may seem at times, she’s not Sarah Palin. Palin is in a padded room of a hospital wing all by herself. She worked very hard to earn that distinction, let’s not take it away from her now.
You can’t spell “simpleton” without an “S” and a “P.”
And Sarah Palin probably couldn’t spell it…well, at all…even with a dictionary.
But I again digress.
As long as Palin remains on the periphery as a pundit and not a presidential candidate, Bachmann is arguably the best Tea Party option amongst this field of uncharismatic, post-Reagan conservatives. That simply can not happen. Heaven is oh so close.
Palin is who the Tea Party wants. Hell, Palin is who I want. Palin is who the Tea Party deserves. And I absolutely mean that in the most loving yet condescending way.
Give the people what they want!
I want Sarah Palin on national television debating Michele Bachmann, vying for the title of Republican nominee most anti-Islamic, anti-Gay, anti-African-American, anti-working class, xenophobic human in all America. Somebody is taking home that trophy, let’s just make sure the best are on the field when it is handed out. That’s why the Republican presidential nomination should be set up like the BCS. #1 plays #2. Like college football, if we can’t get a playoff, this is the next best thing. And you can even hold it in the Cotton Bowl…for obvious and symbolic 20th century Republican reasons. Do the math.
Congresswoman Bachmann garnering the nomination taking home the title of “Most Hateful Republican” without Sarah Palin opposing her is like the Houston Rockets winning the NBA Championship while Michael Jordan is on a baseball diamond…as in worthy of an asterisk. Democrats need to show some spine and get in line with this idea. A campaign donation for Bachmann is a vote of confidence for Sarah Palin. Let nature take its course after that.
The Tea Party deserves better and so does Reality TV. We could feature it on NatGeo, sandwiched in-between all those prison shows. Sambo’s…er uh, Denny’s restaurants could be the title sponsor. You’ve got to see the bigger picture Democrats.
Football would have the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl…Republicans would have the Republican National Convention Denny’s Hate Bowl.
Palin says she will make a final decision by the end of September. Dear God, please let this happen. In fact, I don’t know if this falls under God’s or Santa Claus’ purview. But just to be sure, I’ll be both praying and emailing the North Pole under separate cover.
Glory Hallelujah and Deck the Halls!
For the next 30 days, I’m all about Team Bachmann. See the big picture Democrats…see the big picture.
