GOP Chairman Michael Steele Raps Obama BEFORE Supreme Court Nomination is Made

Michael Steele
Supreme Court justice David Souter announced his retirement recently, and even BEFORE President Obama offered ANY names as a potential replacement, ALREADY the GOP has started the political war of words.
Mo’Kelly is on the RNC headquarters press list (yes, I am…some of my best friends are Republicans) and this is what GOP Chairman Michael Steele sent out today…
Incredible.

RNC Chairman Michael Steele Statement on Supreme Court Vacancy
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:
“President Obama campaigned as a moderate yet he and Congressional Democrats are pushing our nation further and faster to the left than voters bargained for.
The next Supreme Court justice will hold a lifetime appointment, and the president should take his time and search for a nominee whose legal views are consistent with and reflective of mainstream America. He should not use this as an opportunity to impose his liberal legacy on America or give political payback to the far left of his party by nominating someone who makes judicial decisions through an ideological rather than legal lens.
Republicans will reserve judgment until the president makes an appointment.”
(Mo’Kelly – Oh really…looks like you already have passed judgment. And I guess we’ll just have to ALSO overlook the very recent appointments of Chief Justice John Roberts and Samuel Alito. Because they are “clearly” reflective of “mainstream America” and in no way indicative of a conservative agenda putting forth nominees who make judicial decisions through an ideological rather than legal lens.
Right? (Mo’Kelly means “right” as in correct…no political pun intended).
If you say so Mike. You guys act like there was no history in this country prior to November 4, 2008. Believe it or not, Mo’Kelly actually REMEMBERS the actions of the GOP and the Democrats actually WAITED for a name to be submitted BEFORE the waging of an ideological war.
It’s more than disingenuous to argue for the president to NOT engage in ideological warfare with the Supreme Court when you’ve already put it out there even before any name has been submitted.
That’s right Chairman Steele, keep on riding the GOP into the ground. Mo’Kelly will be here to support all of your efforts.
