Dave Matthews – 'U.S. Racism is Everywhere'

Dave Matthews
From CNN.com
CNN: President Carter said he thinks that a lot of the animosity directed toward President Obama is race related.
Dave Matthews: Of course it is! I found there’s a fairly blatant racism in America that’s already there, and I don’t think I noticed it when I lived here as a kid. But when I went back to South Africa, and then it’s sort of thrust in your face, and then came back here — I just see it everywhere. There’s a good population of people in this country that are terrified of the president only because he’s black, even if they don’t say it. And I think a lot of them, behind closed doors, do say it.
Maybe I’m paranoid about it, but I don’t think someone who disagreed as strongly as they do with Obama — if it was Clinton — would have stood up and screamed at him during his speech. (Shakes his head) I don’t think so.
(Mo’Kelly – Yeah, like Dave Matthews knows ANYTHING about racism. He’s only from South Africa <dripping sarcasm>)

Rep Joe Wilson's Open Disrespect of President Obama (VIDEO)

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) "You lie!"

More proof that the rules are simply different for the 1st president of African-American descent. The open, blatant and belligerent behavior fraught with incivility is not indicative of hotly contested issues. This is the sum result of a country refusing to acknowledge the legitimacy of this presidency, for reasons wholly unrelated to the performance of the president.
Never in the history of this country has a president been so openly disrespected and held in such contempt…and he hasn’t been in office for a year. Hasn’t drug the country into a bogus war killing thousands of soldiers either. Didn’t sell arms to Iran in a covert business deal with the Contras. Didn’t sell Saddam Hussein weapons of mass destruction. Didn’t orchestrate the break-in of Watergate hotel. Didn’t have his knob slobbed by a White House intern…but is treated worse than any in history…less than 8 months into the job.
And a congressman (from South Carolina not surprisingly) now has lost his F!@#$% mind…on the floor of congress…

Wilson also made a personal phone call to the White House in hopes of apologizing to Obama himself, but instead had to express his apologies to gatekeeper Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.
(Mo’Kelly – STONEWALLED – You DAMN SKIPPY…talk to the hired help.)
Amid the regret and confessions of guilt, USA Today reports on the disapproval coming from both sides of the political aisle:
“There ought to be a reprimand or censure of Rep. Joe Wilson to discourage that kind of conduct in the future,” Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pa., said via Twitter.
“I cringed,” Rep. David Dreier, the top-ranking Republican on the House Rules Committee, said about his reaction to the outburst. “I think it’s just unfortunate.”
“I’ve been here a long time,” said House Rules Committee Chairwoman Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y.,a 23-year House veteran, “I’ve never heard anyone accost a president like that.”
Even Sen. John McCain, Obama’s recent opponent, chimed in on CNN to call it “totally disrespectful” and was one of several senior Republicans to urge Wilson to apologize.
From around the web…
But Wilson’s shout is giving a financial boost to his Democratic opponent, Rob Miller, who is challenging the incumbent in 2010. In the first 24 hours after Wilson’s outburst, Miller’s campaign coffers swelled by $500,000, according to Jessica Santillo of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The contribution, she said, came in from 14,000 individual contributions. It’s not clear whether the people who made the donations live in South Carolina.
The Republican Congressional Campaign Committee didn’t respond to questions about donations to his own campaign. All of Wilson’s voicemail boxes were full.
Miller said Wilson should apologize to his district too. Last year, Miller gave Wilson his most serious challenge since winning a 2001 special election to fill the vacancy left by the death of Republican Floyd Spence.
“As a retired South Carolina National Guard colonel, he should have known better. It’s disrespectful to our commander in chief in a setting where the world was watching,” Miller, a former Marine who runs on online military memorabilia business, said from his home in Beaufort. “It was childish.“
The district stretches across 10 counties from central to coastal South Carolina and hasn’t elected a Democrat to Congress since 1965. It encompasses wide economic contrasts: Allendale County has the state’s highest unemployment rate — 22.5 percent in July — while Lexington County has the lowest rate at 8 percent.
His district is also home to some of the state’s largest military installations: the Army’s Fort Jackson outside Columbia, and two major Marine Corps facilities — Parris Island Training Depot and the Marine Corps Air Station — both near Beaufort.
At least three members of Wilson’s voluntary, minority advisory committee said they resigned Thursday.
“I didn’t personally want to be associated with that sort of inappropriateness toward the president of the United States of America,” said J.T. McLawhorn, executive director of the Columbia Urban League, who’s served on the group since Wilson formed it a decade ago.
“It’s just a sad day for us in South Carolina,” McLawhorn said. “The perception to people outside of South Carolina is that we just live in a negative environment here.”
