The Slow Yet Public Demise of Bishop Eddie Long

Hear that?

Bishop Eddie Long

That gurgling sound would be from Bishop Eddie Long’s career circling the drain as we speak. The statement is neither hype nor for the sake of hyperbole. Long closed out the decade with four sexual coercion lawsuits, stories surrounding the alleged, previous abuse of his first wife and a spot on the “50 Most Loathesome Americans of 2010” list according to the Buffalo Beast website, checking in at #31. Just FYI, Long was sandwiched somewhere in between George W. Bush and LeBron James on the list; parse that as you will. At any rate, by the end of 2011, Long might be #1 with a bullet.

Here’s why…

Ephren Taylor

2011 thus far has been the proverbial handwriting on the wall, and Long seems more akin to King Belshazzar than David who slew Goliath.

At the beginning of February, the news story broke that members of the New Birth congregation lost as much as $1 million in a failed gaming investment venture with City Capital Corporation. Ephren Taylor, its CEO at the time, is being help personally responsible for the failed venture by Long.

Let’s pause there for a moment.

Churches are now trying to turn a profit in the gaming industry? What, were legalized prostitution and alcohol distribution already taken? Not only that, the congregation is upset about making a bad “wager” on gaming machines?

Talk about ironic…

Evidently, some vices are not only acceptable at New Birth, they’re even a preferred source of revenue. At least the ministry was being consistent, or something like that.

Homosexuality = bad

Gambling = good

Homosexuality = abomination

A Full House or Royal Flush = cause for celebration.

But I digress…

Days later, Bishop Long, his lawyers and church insurance representatives sat down with the four men and their counsel to begin mediation of the highly publicized charges of sexual coercion. Published reports have alleged the proceedings to have been contentious and confrontational in nature. To date, no settlement has been reached.

And in the spirit of the great Ron Popeil…

But wait…there’s more…”

Kicking off March, New Birth ministries announced company-wide layoffs and salary reductions, effective immediately. No word on whether Long was also forced to take a pay cut, but cynicism suggests the obvious, as in hell no. New Birth Ministries has argued that such cost-cutting measures were in response to a decrease in tithes and offerings in this sluggish economy.

Yes, and the horrendous press since September 2010, including 4 major lawsuits alleging sexual coercion were not in any way a factor? Oh…okay.

If that’s the Nebraska “beachfront property” New Birth is selling, so be it.

What can’t be argued, is that New Birth’s financial straits only become more dire if/when a settlement is reached and the total legal fees are tabulated. The inevitable increase in insurance premiums can’t be overlooked and the New Birth brand has already been irreparably damaged.

If you should happen upon Bishop Long standing on the corner of Peachtree St. in Atlanta with the obligatory “The End is Near” sign strapped both front and back, don’t laugh. From his perspective, he’s probably right.

We live in a cynical America whose inhabitants readily remember names like “Ted Haggard,” “George Alan Rekers.” and “The Catholic Church.”

Our society is rampant with those who aren’t ready to forget or forgive the antics of Oral Roberts and the $8 million in “fundraising” to avoid God (ahem) “calling him home.”

And mind you, that was before the internet and wikipedia came along.

Specifically in the Black church tradition, (AME, Baptist, COGIC, Pentecostal, etc.) rarely a day goes by without some sort of sexual or financial scandal plaguing its pulpits. If Long is a “victim” in any way, it’s falling from grace too late in history. Long’s scandal comes at a time when America has already grown tired of the unrepentant, megachurch pastor, embroiled in scandal dripping with hypocrisy.

Will Eddie Long’s “ministry” continue? Sure. Don’t expect him to disappear into obscurity. At the same time, don’t expect him to ever command a level of fame or respect approaching what he once knew. He forfeited any chance at returning to the top when he opted for a private settlement instead of public vindication.

Part of a minister’s job description is to offer wise counsel, encouragement and biblical perspective during trying times of a congregation member’s life. Given the parameters of any mediation agreement, Long will be unable to provide any of the aforementioned, relative to the most important moment of his ministry and life of its congregation. There can be neither closure nor true healing without any public discussion of the allegations.

Being able to ask your spiritual leader about the mysteries of the Bible but not about the realities of the allegations can and will prove problematic for some members. Just how many remains to be seen. If you believe New Birth, the answer thus far is zero and the economy has had more of a negative effect. New Birth continues to deny the obvious and it signifies a continuing reticence to tell any semblance of the truth in these matters. Members aren’t getting the truth now and won’t get it in the future after an agreement is reached.

Bishop Long will survive this moment of infamy, albeit with a considerable price tag attached. All signs do though suggest he’s relegated himself to Megachurch irrelevance…and what’s not to like about that?

Exclusive Interview! Mo’Kelly Sits with Bishop Eddie Long’s…Hairpiece!

The Mo’Kelly Report obtained this exclusive interview with Mr. Jheri

Jheri Lacefront (Eddie Long pictured just below)

Lacefront, the jheri curl wig of the embattled Bishop Eddie Long.  Although Mr. Lacefront could not discuss the case, the mediation talks or any proposed settlement, he was able to give us some insight to what it means to “cover” for one of the high-profile prosperity gospel preachers.

You will not find this conversation anywhere else, another Mo’Kelly exclusive!  Here is the transcript of our conversation.

_____________

Mo’Kelly: So tell me, where are you from…how did you eventually make your way to Atlanta and to the top of Bishop Eddie Long’s forehead?

JL: Actually, I’m like you Mo’Kelly, born and raised in Los Angeles. Growing up I wanted to be in show business, so since I already lived in L.A. why not give it a shot?  In fact, one night I was watching Coming to America …saw how many other curls were able to get work so I thought I’d try my hand at it too.

My first gig was playing Chris Rock’s jheri curl in the movie CB4 in ’93.

Mo’Kelly: That was you?!

JL: Yes sir, that was me. I was obviously younger and the style was longer so I was longer then.

Mo’Kelly: And from there, you did what?

JL: Well on the set I became good friends with Stoney Jackson, who you know was also in the movie. Little did anyone know, Stoney was going bald and he

Stoney Jackson

needed someone to help make it look like his curl was still full. So for the next seven years or so, I was Stoney’s jheri hair piece.

Mo’Kelly: Get outta here!

JL: Serious. Stoney was rockin’ the long jheri curl as late as 2000. He’s still in the business, doing odds and ends for a boutique production company. He wears a short piece these days but still is greasy.

Stoney 2011

Mo’Kelly: OK, so you leave the employ of Stoney Jackson and then what?

JL: To be honest, I fell on hard times. Ran out of money and then moved in with my sister who moved to Atlanta during the great Black migration of the 90s. I found work where I could, but mostly for this old Brotha who spent all of his time and money at the strip club Magic City.

Mo’Kelly: Don’t tell me that’s where you met Bishop Long…

Kandi Burruss

JL: No, but moving to Atlanta was the key. Long story short, this guy I was working for smoked blunts all the time. I smelled horrible. I was miserable. My sister, who at the time was working as a hairweave for Kandi Burruss on Real Housewives of Atlanta, she (my sister) got word that a local preacher was looking for a “more youthful and virile” appearance…and gave me the address to New Birth’s administrative offices.

Mo’Kelly: “A local preacher?”  “Youthful and virile?”

JL: Yeah, that’s what she said. You gotta understand, I was at the strip club literally 5 nights a week and my sister was working in Reality TV. We hadn’t seen the inside of a church in years, much less know who Bishop Long was. Long story short, I went from getting in the house from work at 4am Sunday morning to getting up at 4am on Sundays to go to work.

Mo’Kelly: What year was this?

JL: 2008. I thought work for an old jheri curl lacefront toupee like me was a pipe dream. But along came Bishop Long and gave me a job. He saw himself in a youtube video and said he had to make a change.  I mean really, the man has no hair!  Since then, together, we’ve brought the curl back!

Mo’Kelly: Uh…no you haven’t. But seriously, after a settlement is reached, do you worry whether he’ll even be able to afford your services anymore? We all know about the recent staff and salary cuts.

JL: As you know I can’t comment specifically, but I can say I’ve suffered through hard times before, losing a job won’t ever again scare me. Besides, I’m in the Entertainment Hairpiece and Weave Union and there’s always some bald celebrity out there trying to maintain their youthful appearance. John Travolta, Jeremy Piven, Ted Danson, Naomi Campbell…I’ll be alright.

Mo’Kelly: What’s it like working for the Bishop?

JL: He’s great. He never wears me when he works out and when he’s in casual mode he’s always wearing hats…Kangols usually. So I’m usually only on the clock when he’s preaching or doing some public event. The money’s good and I don’t smell like the chronic and/or strawberry baby oil anymore.

Mo’Kelly: C’mon, I know there’s a funny story you can tell about the Bishop…

JL: Well there was this one time at the LongFellows Youth Academy where he…uh…never mind. Next question…

Mo’Kelly: Understood. Did you ever almost slip off of his head during a sermon?

JL: Absolutely. He sweats a lot. One time he caught the Holy Ghost and started spinning around and my glue came undone. Bishop realized it and asked someone to put holy hands on him and pray with him…but he really just wanted someone to push me back into place. That was a close one.

Mo’Kelly: Ha! I get the sense you’ve “seen a lot” in the past three years.

JL: I have.  I know what you’re getting at.  I can’t discuss the case but one day I will write that book.

Mo’Kelly: Before I let you go…can you give readers today a sense of the Bishop’s overall mood as of late?

JL: He’s been pretty reserved these days. You can tell this has taken a toll on him. There was a lot going on having nothing to do with the present issues. You see it in his face, his countenance. This is hard on him.

Mo’Kelly: Harder than telling the truth?  Doubt it. Thanks for making time for The Mo’Kelly Report Jheri Lacefront. All the best to you in the future.

Eddie Long’s Jheri Curl Lacefront Wig Gives Interview (VIDEO)

Well, the headline on CNN reads that Bishop Eddie Long “breaks his media silence,” but it is misleading.  The only thing REALLY talking in this video is his jheri curl, lacefront toupee and it is screaming something awful.  Bishop Long didn’t say much about anything.

But the hair piece…spoke VOLUMES!  Who is his barber/wig stylist?!  Lord hammercy!

And no, Mo’Kelly doesn’t care about any “Trumpet Awards”…Mo’Kelly only cares whether he’s going to tell the truth about his level of involvement with the four young men who have accused him of sexual coercion.

FULL STORY HERE.

Always know that Mr. Mo’Kelly is on top of it…kind of like Eddie Long’s jheri curl, lacefront toupee.

Same…but different.

Perez Hilton Trades Advocacy for Hypocrisy

This isn’t personal…just principled.

Mo’Kelly is calling you out Perez Hilton, are you in or are you out?  No pun

Perez Hilton

intended.

Back in 2009, Mo’Kelly received an email from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, mocking two of my commentaries regarding him and the Carrie Prejean/Miss USA Pageant controversy in 2009. At that point, Hilton seemed unaffected by his role in the perception of the Gay Rights movement or the perception of his work more broadly. It was a seeming contradiction given his outspoken stances, to blithely and blindly proceed without conscience to his impact on issues he championed.

Perez Hilton Isn’t Ready for Gay Marriage in America

Perez Hilton Created Ant-Gay Star Carrie Prejean

But we’ll come back to that in a moment.

Remember when the Chris Brown/Rihanna saga dominated the news? Hilton’s stance was clear.

From his website…

Chris Brown Apologizes – FINALLY!

Too little, too late!

Chris Brown has just released a statement, owning up to his actions in February and apologizing for severely beating then-girlfriend Rihanna.

You know what this smells like???

Like shit!!!!!

After you watch his apology (above), it’ll be clear to anyone with half a brain that he’s just trying to salvage what little he has left of a career.

Lame. Lame. Lame.

Then…remember when Michael Jackson passed away unexpectedly and the poorly conceived tweet by Chris Brown’s momma?

________________________________________

Chris Brown’s Mom Apologized For Tweet!

That family has issues!

After Tweeting the phrase “Michael Jackson died so that Chris Brown could live!!!” Chris Brown‘s mother, Joyce Hawkins, got a lot of shiz in response.

And we completely understand why! So, she finally decided to apologize for the crazy ass comment.

Hawkins said:

“I’m so sorry that the tweet I sent yesterday was misunderstood. What I meant to say is that Chris has always been inspired by Michael Jackson’s music and his career. I’m sorry I offended anyone. The statement meant Chris would carry on Michaels [sic] legacy.”

Oh geez! Let’s not get carried away.

_____________________________________

Perez Hilton’s record is clear and unmistakable as it relates to homophobia generally, domestic violence and Twitter foolishness specifically. His history of criticizing any and all things Chris Brown has also been well-documented.

But wait, there’s more.

The bad blood between Brown and Hilton eventually made its way to Twitter back in March of last year.

Then something changed…

Many Hilton supporters would point to his appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in October of 2010 where Hilton pledged to be “nicer” in the wake of a spate of teen suicides linked to gay bullying as the turning point. Hilton argued that he was going to both change the tone of his website and work towards becoming the solution.

Over the last week and a half two weeks I’ve been doing everything I can to bring awareness to the issue of teen suicides and gay bullying. And in doing so, a lot of people have called me a hypocrite, and a bully myself and a big one. And that’s not how I want to be perceived and that’s not what I want to put out there to the world. And it was a big wake up call that so many people saw me that way.

So from now on I really want to be part of the solution and not part of the problem and I want to be the change that I want to see in others, so I’m going to do things differently on my website, than I have in the past. I’m not going to call people nasty nicknames, I’m not going to go the mean route. I’m going to force myself to be funnier or smarter or just do things differently. Not doodle inappropriate things and not out people.”

Perez Hilton is definitely a hypocrite and here are the reasons why.

Hilton had absolutely NO commentary (nice or otherwise) to offer on the latest Twitter transgression and apology of Chris Brown. Although Hilton noted the incident on his site, he left it up to his readers to decide as to its importance.

Really Perez? Gay bullying? You can comment on the strength of Brown’s latest CD on your site, but no comment on homophobic rant by the same artist?

http://perezhilton.com/2010-12-29-chris-brown-goes-homophobic-on-his-twitter-page

Really Perez? Gay bullying? Advocacy blogging? Becoming part of the solution?

Mo’Kelly didn’t know that social justice commentary ever went on holiday break like the American public school system.

Given Perez Hilton’s frequent and public stances against all artists and behavior even remotely homophobic in nature, it was beyond odd. His documented history in regards to Chris Brown makes it doubly odd.

Mo’Kelly gets it…Hilton wants to be “NICE,” but a “nice” website and inconsistency in message are two different things. Hilton must be consistent in his message irrespective of methodology, or needs to remove himself from the advocacy blogging business altogether. He can call himself “Perez Hilton, the Diet TMZ” but refrain from any other social justice commentary in the future. If Hilton can not or will not address the larger and obvious issues which set the tone and frame the homophobia debate; then it’s absolute hypocrisy to do so at any later date or presently claim to be a social justice advocate.

And why is the social justice advocate for African-American issues the one having to make this clear for the Gay Rights advocate (SMH)?!

Mo’Kelly is calling you out Perez Hilton, are you in or are you out?

If Hilton is to be part of the “solution” for the GLBT community then abject silence on the obvious displays of homophobic behavior does a disservice to any and all issues related to Gay rights. Straddling the line hurts his supposed cause.

For all the many comparisons between Gay rights and the modern Civil Rights Movement of the 20th century, silence was never an option in the Civil Rights Movement. And in part, this is why Mo’Kelly doesn’t like the comparisons in the first place. Once again, it’s the luxury of “choice” which most clearly delineates the two. Not the argument that homosexuality supposedly is a “choice” but the choice to either fight or not involve oneself in the fight or live openly as a member of the community.

Hilton would do well to continue to avoid going the “mean” route but it is hypocrisy to then have nothing to say (nicely or otherwise) on the issues and incidents which most frame and affect the debate.

Having nothing to say in a social justice sense on the Chris Brown Tweetfest is absolute hypocrisy.

Hilton has long compared the Gay Rights movement to the Civil Rights moment and quote Dr. King ad nauseam (which irritates Mo’Kelly to NO end). Mo’Kelly is here to tell Hilton, he can’t have it both ways. Advocacy requires speaking out, even when it’s impolitic, unpopular, politically inexpedient and generally unsafe.  If Perez Hilton is a Gay Rights advocate, then he should act accordingly, consistently…nicely or not. Otherwise his voice means nothing, irrespective of how often he eschews vulgar doodling or supposed mean-spirited commentary.

Message still trumps methodology and absence of message renders methodology meaningless.

At the top of this piece, Mo’Kelly explained how Hilton mockingly emailed Mo’Kelly regarding his previous commentaries. Last week when Mo’Kelly emailed him back requesting a formal statement on the Chris Brown incident…

Silence.

Unacceptable Perez. You built an empire under the pretense of advocacy blogging, wrapped in celebrity reporting. If you’ve walked away from social commentary altogether, that’s fine, but don’t jump back in the water down the road when more convenient. You’re allowed only one epiphany in life, not two. Those are the rules.  Two or more smack of brazen disingenuous behavior.

Perez, you’ve been called out.  This isn’t personal, just on principle.  Either you’re in or you’re out.  Make the choice.

(And Mo’Kelly didn’t even have to use any “nasty nicknames” or “vulgar doodling” to make his point.)

Chris Brown – The Apology (The Sequel)

In a letter to TMZ (as if THAT was where the apology should have been

"I'm sorry...again...for reals..."

sent…) Chris Brown er uh, I mean, his press department offered up this written statement in regards to the “unfortunate” Twitter exchange with Raz-B.

Cue violins…

__________

“Yesterday was an unfortunate lack in judgment sparked by public Twitter attacks from Raz B, who was bent on getting attention.  Words cannot begin to express how sorry and frustrated I am over what transpired publicly on Twitter.”

[Mo'Kelly - If I hear one more apology with "words cannot begin to express."  And is this an APOLOGY or a justification?!  He opens up by talking about Raz B?!  Are you serious?!]

“I have learned over the past few years to not condone or represent acts of violence against anyone.”

[Mo'Kelly - You've learned?  What exactly have you learned?  You're back where you started.  If you "learned" something you wouldn't be back in PR crisis mode, complete with a formulaic "apology."]

“Molestation and victims of such acts are not to be taken lightly; and for my comments I apologize — from the bottom of my heart.”

I love all of my fans, gay and straight. I have friends from all walks of life and I am committed, with God’s help, to continue becoming a better person.

If actor Michael Richards, said he loved all Black people after his N-word tirade…would it matter?  Of course not.

If Mel Gibson said he loved all his Jewish fans after his many tirades…would it matter?  Or course not.

It’s not the point.

The issue was never about “whether” Brown loved his gay fans, it’s about how he disrespected them (and molestation victims and sexual abuse victims) whether directly intended or not.  You can “love” someone AND manage to disrespect someone.  They aren’t mutually exclusive.  Chris Brown, er uh…his PR crisis team, still doesn’t get it.

But in effect Brown said, “I love all the people who are fans of mine.”

Of course you do, but that’s not the point Ike Turner Brown.

Elvis Presley and Rush Limbaugh probably loved their Black fans too.  This isn’t about fans, this is about wanton disrespect of people, not JUST the ones who may purchase Brown’s music or appreciate his dance moves.

Brown fails to realize and understand that he is a brand, a multi-million dollar corporation.  He is also the spokesperson for both.  His Twitter feed, followed by 1.3 million people is little different than national television, except whatever he says is delivered directly to his followers, regardless of age.

His apology is devoid of shame.  He should be ashamed.

His apology is devoid of embarrassment and true humility.

Brown has cast this as a “mistake,” a “learning experience” if you will.  By the time you’re 21 and have traveled the world, some lessons you should not have to learn via bad Twitter judgment.

This would be one of them.

When one makes such unacceptable remarks in the public sphere as a public entity, you abdicate and abrogate the right in having a say in “who” might be offended, whether they are justified in being offended and just how long their ire will last.

You can’t spew such vile rhetoric directly into 1.3 million Twitter feeds and then think a poorly-crafted apology sent to TMZ somehow makes it alright.

It doesn’t and it’s not.

Mo’Kelly’s not letting Brown off that easy.  Some behavior, some rhetoric, some rantings are simply unacceptable and inexcusable.  This would be one of them.  Brown said it, now he must own it…ALL of it.

And nice of him to once again conveniently throw “God” in there.   When in doubt, call on the Lord in vain futility and with questionable sincerity.  When Brown finally came down from his profanity-laden rant of vulgarity, he managed to indicate how ONCE AGAIN he’s committed to becoming a better person.  Shouldn’t be hard, nowhere to go but up.

Lastly…(these celebrities tickle Mo’Kelly),  this is what Brown should have said and would have saved some of that wasted crisis PR money he spent today.

To my fans, followers and those who happened upon my words on Twitter…

My behavior was inexcusable and unacceptable.  There is no excuse for making light of sexual abuse or the use of homophobic humor under any circumstances.  It is completely unacceptable and totally out of character for me.

If you are angry with me, I accept that and understand my responsibility in it.  Please accept my apology in return.  If you are willing to forgive me, humbly please accept my thanks and I will embrace this opportunity to do better…much better.

Chris Brown Throws ‘Rest’ of Career Away…in 140 Characters

Poor Chris Bro"Peace out everyone...my career is over...ain't that right Riri?"wn…

Too much, too young, too fast. You see it with young stars all of the time. Too much fame and too little life experience in which to adequately maneuver the pitfalls; balance the fantasyworld of fandom with real life responsible behavior.

Life is difficult enough just simply trying to make it through adolescence into young adulthood. It’s even more complicated as a major entertainment star and on the heels of a domestic violence gaffe of cataclysmic proportions.

No excuses (or sympathy) for Brown though; his world and the problems in it are all of his own creation.

There’s no need to relive the history that is pop singer Chris Brown’s. You know it, Mo’Kelly knows it and just about anyone with access to the internet knows it. A momentary indiscretion has led to a permanent blotch on the life résumé; one referenced in every…single…story…or footnote connected to Brown.

From now until his obituary is finally written.

Now, Brown can add one more line to his eventual obit and at this rate it will be complete before he hits age 30. It seems that Brown let loose on former B2K boy band member Raz-B in a homophobic rant in the 21st century version of hip-hop beefs.

Chris Brown "You Talk Too Much"

It used to be artists would “bang” or “beef” on wax. (That would be “vinyl records” for those born after the invention of the internet. Wax pre-dates CDs and MP3s…jus’ sayin’.)

But vinyl is so, so 20th century. Now artists “keep it real” on Twitter. On Twitter you (or some lackey you hire) can type away on all things irrelevant, 140 characters at a time. Chris Brown has found a new way to use Twitter…throwing away “the rest” of his career.

Instead of trying to explain “how” it happened, just read it. Start from the bottom and make your way to the top.

(Please excuse the vulgarity and profanity.  Here it is in the short form.  It’s much longer but you’ll get the point.  Keep in mind, Brown has 1.2 million Twitter followers, which is the equivalent of saying this on national TV.  Each follower received these messages in their feed, be they 8 years old or 80.)

See how that works, the internet saves EVERYTHING. The tweets, this post, the picture of the tweets contained in this post…

FOREVER.

Oops for Brown. Not a good look for (now former) music superstars.

So much for all of those anger management classes and that nifty certificate he earned since beating the snot out of Rihanna. All that went straight out the window with one tweet from Raz-B (which was directed to him and other artists).

Chris Brown is now the resident authority on career self-sabotage. It’s not easy to do and Brown is about the best there is. Lindsay Lohan is up there. T.I. definitely deserves to be in the conversation too but neither had attained the heights of Brown before flushing it down the toilet.

In fact, rumor has it that Brown’s self-help, er uh “self-sabotage” book is almost complete.

How to Throw Away THE REST of Your Career in 140 Characters: A Love Story

It will probably be available at Wal-Mart and other fine retailers.

Chris Stokes

For the unaware, Raz-B once made allegations of being sexually molested and assaulted by former manager Chris Stokes in 2007, which has now served as the reference point for Brown’s poorly conceived attempt at “humor.”

In addition to being a domestic violence pariah, Brown evidently wanted to branch out and become the poster child for homophobic pop singers and also be vilified for child sexual molestation “humor.”

Great marketing strategy there. Brown wasn’t trying to be just “an a-hole”…he was swinging for the fence to become “KING a-hole.”

Talk about living the dream…

Well, never let it be said that Brown didn’t have aspirations. He’s not trying to just end his career, he’s trying to go down in a ball of flames while wearing bacon-grease drawers with the world watching and commenting via Skype.

What comes next you ask?

First the denial, (an employee or associate wrote the tweets). If that doesn’t work, invariably the “apology” comes next, probably in the form of a press release and a written statement on his website. Then, the videotaped appeal for public forgiveness of his non-specific transgressions will “somehow” make its way virally around the net. And to close the 2011 Chris Brown “apology” Tour, he will be waist deep in sensitivity training on sexual orientation discrimination and child sexual abuse. Expect the public service announcement(s) to air on BET sometime around April of next year. Check local listings for details.

Then…(wait for it…wait for it…)

The “comeback” music project! Let’s see if we can guess the title of his next album!

Gay-hater, Woman Beater: Take Me As I Am

I Can Transform Ya…(Just Not Me)

Take You Down?…No Twitter Took Me Down!

Bitter About Twitter – Unplugged

Rihanna is a Very ‘Tweet’ Girl

You get the point. Let’s not and just say we did.

G’nite Chris Brown. Thanks for coming. You’re done. Turn off the lights on your way out.

Chris Brown is who he is and no amount of training or public relations strategy meetings will change it. He was unprepared for superstardom and its inherent responsibilities. More importantly, he is still unaware what it means to be a man.

How any public figure thinks for one moment such behavior is acceptable, sensible or forgettable is beyond Mo’Kelly.

Chris Brown was given a second chance and is not deserving of a third (in an entertainment stardom sense.) No amount of future “hits” can obscure who he is. Let him look for success in another line of work…like as a self-sabotage author as Mo’Kelly has suggested. His musical talent is not and will not ever be the issue. It’s his lack of manhood and wanton disregard for all things akin to common sense that are the issues.

To recap:

Domestic abuse is unacceptable and unfunny.

Homophobia is unacceptable and unfunny.

Child molestation and sexual abuse are unacceptable and quite unfunny.

Chris Brown is now also unacceptable.

Happy New Year Chris. You can go back to writing that future bestseller book now.
