Chris Brown Pleads Guilty – FINALLY
The only question is…why all the BS leading up this point? Be it Michael Vick or Chris Brown or whomever. If you’re going to plead guilty (which is what you should do when you ARE guilty) why all the games in the media? The carefully worded press releases, the leaked “accounts” the requests for continuances and later court dates?
Just plead guilty and let everyone go on with their lives. Thank you Chris, NOW you’re becoming a man. From the AP…

_____________
LOS ANGELES – Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault on pop star Rihanna. Brown entered his plea before a preliminary hearing was scheduled to start in Los Angeles on Monday.
Rihanna had been on standby to testify.
After Brown left the courtroom, Rihanna entered and was addressed by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg, who explained to the Barbados-born singer that she had issued a stay-away order.
Rihanna had not been seeking a stay-away order, but the judge imposed one. The order requires that Brown and Rihanna stay at least 50 yards from each, except at industry events when the distance is reduced to 10 yards.
The judge also told Rihanna it’s not a one-way order and she will be in violation if she gets closer to Brown than the order allows.
Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, said the plea deal includes five years of supervised probation and six months of community labor. Brown will be formally sentenced on Aug. 5.
Schnegg accepted Brown’s plea, but expressed some concerns because Brown is not a California resident. She said Brown likely will be allowed to do his community service in his home state of Virginia. He’ll have to return to California for updates every three months. He’ll also be required to attend domestic violence classes.
Brown spoke softly throughout the hearing as he waived his rights and told the judge he understood the gravity of his plea.
“I think it’s commendable you took responsibility for your conduct,” Schnegg told Brown.
She said she hoped “the terms and conditions of your probation will have some meaning.”
The deal provides an end to a case that sparked intense media interest and severe backlash against Brown. Sponsors and radio stations dropped him, and the singer had to cancel several high-profile appearances, including a performance at the Grammys.

Yes, you read that right. Mike Tyson, who ascended to the throne and took the crown of “King of the Woman-Beaters” with the passing of Ike Turner, had this to say on Chris Brown…
“It’s none of my business, but you know what I say about that? I understand the situation. I understand passion with young kids,” Tyson, 42, tells MTV News.
“My personal opinion about that is, he’s just a baby,” adds the former heavyweight champ, who is the subject of a new documentary, “Tyson,” out Friday. “He’s just a little baby that don’t know how to handle his emotions when it comes to a woman. And he probably hears this and thinks, ‘I know how to handle my emotions’; we all think we do.”
“But the fact [is], you look at this person and you might be crazy in love, but we don’t know how to handle those feelings.”
Um…uh…um…uh…err…hmm…

When Mo’Kelly wants advice on going to jail for raping a woman…Mike Tyson will be the one he dials up. When Mo’Kelly wants a tip or two on how to beat the snot out of his wife right before interviewing with Barbara Walters…Mike Tyson is to whom I will turn. Just because you are an authority on beating and raping women, that doesn’t make you an authority on the psychology behind it. Crazy people are not de facto “experts” on what makes other people crazy or their crazy behavior.
Moving right along. And in other news today…

Mo'Kelly RIGHT AGAIN! Chris Brown to Fire EVERYONE!
See, y’all need to stop wondering about the wisdom of Mo’Kelly. The NY Post is reporting today…
CHRIS Brown is said to be through with his manager, whose sexy text-messages supposedly sparked the fight that ended with his alleged beating of Rihanna.
Brown is “looking for a whole new team” to replace his current crew, “starting with his manager, Tina Davis,” said our source.
Davis was cited as the “other woman” who sent texts to Brown the night before the Grammys, causing the fight in the Lamborghini. Police reports stated Brown had a “previous sexual relationship” with Davis, who’s managed him since he was 16. Davis blasted “rumors” of any texts or sex, saying she and Brown were strictly “manager and client.”
But it isn’t just Davis – Brown is said to be “upset with his whole team,” including publicity-loving lawyer Mark Geragos and p.r. man Mike Sitrick.
The insider added: “Chris wanted to apologize [for the alleged beat-down] much earlier . . . and he was upset when the apology was finally released because it sounded so insincere.”

You DO remember, Mo’Kelly said the following:
Dear Chris Brown,
If you have any desire to save your career, fire your publicist, manager…both of them immediately.
Not “now”…but RIGHT now.
They are making sure your future is anything but bright. Whoever is responsible for giving you advice on how to best handle this affair in a public sense is sending your career straight to the garbage bin. Who in the hell is advising Brown?
Don’t get Mo’Kelly wrong, if Brown is guilty for the crime(s) alleged then he should be treated accordingly. But in terms strategic positioning or better yet common sense…until one has his/her day in court, do NOTHING to increase a future guilty verdict in the interim.
Honestly, Chris Brown should’ve called Mo’Kelly first and foremost. The “statement” above did NOTHING to help Brown and did EVERYTHING to further injure him and his future career prospects.
The statement was beyond amateurish, it was ill-conceived and ultimately destructive to Brown.

The 'Other Side' of Domestic Violence Coin
Amid reports of a reunion and reconciliation between entertainment stars Chris Brown and Rihanna, there has been widespread speculation that Rihanna will not either press charges and/ or possibly will admit fault in escalating the “incident.”
Since the “incident,” which took place the night before the Grammy Awards, speculation has abounded as to how “responsible” Rihanna is (or is not) for the altercation. To which, Mo’Kelly was unequivocally clear, the woman would hypothetically be wrong up until he puts his hands on her. With the exception of threat of death or severe bodily injury (i.e. weapon being wielded) a man is never to hit a woman.
Will all that as a precursor, Tampa police arrested Nieves Ngeskebei 22, Saturday morning and charged her for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Allegedly she hit her boyfriend of five years in the face with a stilleto-heeled shoe. Ngeskebei is being held without bail.
Don’t run by that and miss it…note, “HELD WITHOUT BAIL.”
Yes, violence against men is the “other side,” the less talked about side and often the more controversial side of domestic violence. The prevailing question is “At what point is a man ‘allowed’ to use force in the defense of himself?” Let this story be a perfect example of how to handle oneself.
The boyfriend was cut in the cheek but nowhere in any published report has Mo’Kelly found any mention of him striking her back.
Good for him. No…GREAT for him.
This is another teachable moment my African-American brothers. Really take a closer look here.
For his trouble and good sense…she’s the one in jail, not him. He is enjoying his freedom and she will languish in jail until their court date, whenever that may finally be. If he hits her (self-defense or not), they both are likely arrested and it then devolves into a situation of her word against his, her injuries versus his.
Do understand, from what we know about this case, it seems the boyfriend would have been well within his “right” to inflict bodily harm on the woman. When a person is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, defending oneself is probably in order. Not only that, judging by the lack of wounds in the above mugshot, Ngeskebei was the likely aggressor.
For full story click HERE.
To bring this full circle once again…the boyfriend likely could have also responded with violence, a weapon of some sort and the only result is both parties are arrested and someone possibly ends up dead.
It’s likely that the boyfriend along with an injured face has an injured ego. Any woman who hits a man is out to emasculate as well as injure. Ending up in The Mo’Kelly Report because your woman tried to kill you is not a boost to a man’s ego, you can best believe.
The take home message in all of this is that if Chris Brown did nothing (irrespective of alleged escalation by Rihanna), he keeps his career, his endorsements and his good name. His freedom is yet to be determined. The jury is still out on that one, pun intended. Instead, the only thing he assuredly keeps is this violent footnote that will forever follow him in life.
No woman is worth all of that. Walk away my Brothers…if at all possible walk away.

Terrence Howard – Domestic Violence Mugshot
Recently, venerable actor Terrence Howard came out in uh…support I guess you could say of Chris Brown and his domestic violence “difficulties.”
In fact, there was even video…
What one should think of it is up to you as the viewer. Mo’Kelly is indifferent about him showing public support for Brown. Brown is not a leper. It smacked of poor judgment by Howard and left him open for deeper scrutiny given his own questionable past…but it’s not unbelievable in theory to have something nice to say about Brown.
But this was just not the time. It was better to have left it alone altogether.
Sure enough, folks in response went digging into Howard’s past and found he has a “similar” history, given his arrest on a domestic violence incident in 2001 with his now ex-wife.
Police report HERE
Entertainers just refuse to think before they act. There are just certain subjects in which “no comment” is the only comment to have when you are still beholden to the public. And of course Howard “retracted/further explained/recanted” shortly thereafter. But the collateral damage was done.
One day they’ll learn. It just won’t be anytime soon…
The lesson is, it doesn’t matter if you’re a “good guy” 23 hours of the day if you beat your woman during the 24th. The behavior is the issue, not whether Brown is generally “a good guy.”
For all the community service and good works I seek to continually do with my church, it doesn’t mean much the FIRST time Mo’Kelly commits a felony. That’s just the way it is. Recognize it and learn from it.
Some folks just don’t get it. And that’s why they keep making the same mistakes…
