AME Exposed – More News Coverage of First AME Lawsuits
A rather even-handed article was posted in the local Los Angeles newspaper Our Weekly. It gives the non-Mo’Kelly Report reader a broader historical perspective of the issues which exist in this situation and leading up to this moment.
It details how Bishop T. Larry Kirkland was made aware in July of the numerous issues in First AME…18 members filed formal charges (church-speak for “official AME compaint”).
It also details how Lamothe went to the church FIRST in an attempt to resolve the issue internally, before filing the lawsuit.
First AME could have dealt with this internally and the public (and parishioners) would have been spared the embarrassment and gory details.
This “could” have been addressed internally…but instead, the church did what the church does. It gets what it gets. I guess the three articles in the L.A. Times weren’t enough of a hint that Pastor Jack-Off is bad news…pun intended.

This entire ordeal is simply a travesty. I wonder if the Bishop will come to is senses and waive the jive mandatory retirement crap John Bryant kept insisting and ask Pastor Murray to restore FAME????Bryant is a joke and Kirkland if not careful will have to use his "down home" methodology and take Pastor Hunter to the woodshed cause he a'int leaving FAME like a decent person, who has been uncovered. It's sad when everything you touch turns sour!!!!!!
Teresa Wantanabe, Teresa Wantanabe, wherefore art thou Teresa Wantanabe? This situation certainly merits the in depth investigative capabilities of a major news organ like the LA Times. Certainly the circulation readership would spike with the piqued interest of the Black community to a piece surrounding issues germane to them as well as their spiritual and financial well being. Just be even handed, honest and thorough. The truth shall set us all free.
"WHERE THERE IS SMOKE THERE IS FIRE"
GET THE PIMP, MOLESTER OUT OF FAME.
'MO'; I HAVE TRIED TO HOOK UP WITH THE
"FAME 18" or AME JUSTICE COMMITEE.

WRITEUS1@ATT.NET
MY GRANDMOTHER WAS @ FAME ON 8th & TOWN IN THE 40's. I HAVE BEEN @ FAME SINCE 1992.
I'M TIRED OF ALL THE DRAMA & WANT TO JOIN UP WITH THE "FAME 18".
IF WE HAVE 19,000 MEMBERS @ FAME. WE SHOULD HAVE THE "FAME 10,000", NOT THE 'FAME 18'!!!!!!!!!!!!
ANYBODY ELSE WANT TO JOIN UP ??
This must be a testament to his ego, but if your previous employment sent a BOX of damning evidence to follow you, wouldn't you want to be on your best behavior?? How can one man (a "Man of GOD", no less) get into this much trouble??
Also, has the bishop ever heard of checking references?? Craziness…
Mo', all this is just amazing. I have filed charges against Kirkland, Presiding Elder Copeland and some of the officers and members of my church. Todate, the only response I received was from the Bishop Guidry and the Council of Bishops telling me what can't be done. I even responded to her letter and have not heard anything. The problem with our Zion, and many like it, is they don't want to address the real issues in the church.
At this past Annual Conference, a delegate from another church, stood up and talk about the division, talked about the pastors lies about the numbers, talked about what she and others was feeling, and you know the response from Kirkland was -- "did you pick her as your delegate?" He went on to tell the delegate -- don't let satan use you.
I have found, if you don't agree with them, or if you try to stand up to them, or if you just tell the truth about an issue, they will try to destroy you. Their word is to "kill" you.
This is not the Church that God has called us to be.
