“However, the lawsuit at hand is not challenging whether AKA has properly done community service or promoted its sisterhood. The central issues – which international president Ms. McKinzie is willfully clouding are as follows: did Ms. McKinzie or didn’t she use the sorority credit card for personal gain?
Did she or didn’t she take what used to be a volunteer position as president and turn it into a $375,000 position without members’ approval? Did she or didn’t she spend $900,000 or how ever much on those now-infamous wax figures? Did the board of directors grant her a $4,000 a month pension after her term is up and take out a $1 million life insurance policy and violate AKA bylaws? Although I do wonder why all of the sorority business is being put out on front street, I understand that members tried to private bring their concerns to Ms. McKinzie at the Centennial Boule last year but she blew them off.
This lawsuit has now become public interest, especially since AKA can only continue to function if people allow their daughters, sisters, cousins, young friends, etc. to join. Also, AKA has gotten and perhaps is still getting federal and state grants at the chapter level to implement some of its programs.

AKA has been suffering from an imperial Directorate for the last 30 years. There has been less and less democracy and almost no transparency. The current Supreme Basileus has forgotten that she must answer to the membership. Her imperious attitude abandons all pretext of sisterhood. She should offer incontrovertible proof that she is innocent of all nine counts in the suit filed against her.
She should also prove that the $12,000 in personal checks made out to her from a vendor at Boule found its way back into the AKA treasury.
Every single prononuncement
should offer irrefutable evidence of her innocence.
Soror Barbara's selection of the logo of ESP was presient because some how she must have known that as AKA's, every single person who loves are sisterhood must hold our Directorate accountable to the membership.
Provide us with a double dose of ESP!

Come out in force on August 22nd in Philadelphia at 10:00AM for a meeting. The Plaintiffs and their attorneys will give an update and answer questions regarding the lawsuit. That is more than the Leadership of AKA have done in openly addressing the allegations for the members. Details on the home page of the friendsoftheweepingivy.com website.
Mo'Kelly, I hope you will be present at the August 22 meeting. Also, please help us get the word out to the other members of the press. Rest assure BAM will have her spies there taking note of who is in attendance so she can issue more suspensions.
