RNC Chief Steele and Limbaugh Wage War
Ah suki suki now! And for those of you who wrongly assumed Michael Steele was just a token figurehead…read this CNN.com article closely.
Some highlights:
“Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh’s whole thing is entertainment. Yes, it is incendiary. Yes, it is ugly.”
Michael Steele
To which Limbaugh responded…
“Why do you claim to lead the Republican Party when you seem obsessed with seeing to it President Obama succeeds?
I frankly am stunned that the chairman of the Republican National Committee endorses such an agenda. I have to conclude that he does because he attacks me for wanting it to fail.

I wonder if there is a RNC split in the future?
Rush Limbaugh speaks to that hardcore conservative Republican that does not want to move into the 21st century. While Michael Steele represents the "new" RNC. A more progressive RNC.
A house divided against itself cannot stand. Does Mr. Steele have enough support from those who support his views to overshadow and silence the likes of Limbaugh, Coulter, and Newt?
I'm just throwing questions out there as I think this through.
Thanks for the post Mo.
And less than 24 hours later after groveling on his knees and offering up a rambling apology to the 'real' leader of the GOP. It's official -- Michael "my balls are the size of baby peas" Steele is indeed the token figurehead of the GOP!
RNC Chairman Steele PUNKS OUT…. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29478402/
Hey Mo,
This is nothing new…as a Marylander, I have had the great displeasure and distinct distaste of listening to this step-n-fetch-it as Lt.Gov. Yes, I am embarrassed to say that he is from my home state…sigh. Steele continues to be the Rethug's token…in PG County he was Chair of the County Repub party…lol..right…a majority black county..and he couldn't successfully recruit. Then in 02, he becomes the token on the Rethug ticket with Bob Erlich, who became the first Repub Gov in a Blue state. Why, not becuz of Steele being on the ticket, but becuz, chocolate folk chose to stay home instead of voting for the Dem Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, who insulted them by putting a no-name white R, instead of a Black D on her ticket. She thought she could be the first D to get a majority white male vote with her R LtGov pick. She lost!! By year 3 of the Erlich/Steele Admin, Steele was silenced..he was the invisible LT Gov. Then he decided to run for the open Senate Seat in 06 and garnered less black votes than in his Lt Gov race. And now once again the token has promised to do on the national level, what he was incapable of doing on the local or state levels…bring more diversity, broader base, more moderate thinking to the R party…SMDH. The party who eschews tokenism for everyone else…FULLY embraces it for itself..Exhibt A..Clarence Thomas. Exhibit B..Michael Steele…buffoonery at it's highest.
oops…my bad, I meant "first R gov in years in the blue state, since Spiro Agnew back in the 60s'
I'm not to sure what is more degrading……watching our young black boys with their pants basically around their knees or hearing a black man, relinquish his 'power' by apologizing to/for Rush Limbaugh.
Here here…completely agree. If the goal was to exhibit a show of force, he instead demonstrated a lack of fortitude. He is officially on record as having to bow to Rush Limbaugh. Where I feel for him as an African-American man leading a hostile Republican party, I also do not feel for him as this was the conscious choice he made.
The Republican party is what the Republican party is…and this is a perfect reminder.
